It has been over a while since I posted about Dane County Neighbors and our work so here goes nothing. What can I say, the crisis that spawned this group is far from over and every week it seems another problem rears its ugly head. I have one word to say about this; HOPE. I don't know the path things will take. Even this far in is still a learning process for us, the things we have to juggle and knowing the responsibility of admining a platform of this size is hard.
The worst thing you can do is despair. Hope can and will see us through. Hope that we can build a better future for our community from all of this. Hope that we will see one another through these unprecedented crises. Hope and belief in the inherent goodness and kindness of our neighbors and finally hope that Neighbors Helping Neighbors can be the change they want to see in the world and make everyone's day just that much better.
Take care of one another, talk to someone if you are feeling down and make sure to keep believing in Tomorrow. Mental health is no joke so I will reup this;
In tough times it is important for us to be here for each other in any way we can. Please look out for each other. Mental health issues may seem invisible, but the impacts of depression, anxiety and social isolation can be profound. Check in with your friends, family and neighbors and make sure that they are okay. The Holidays
